Abstract	Inthispaper,wepresentedinvestigationonthemeasurementofthermalimpedanceofphasecontrolthyristoranditsexperimentalresults.Thermalimpedanceiscomposedofthermalresistanceandheatcapacity.Thermalresistancewasdrivedfromtheresponsecharacteristiconunitsteptothermalsystemashighpowerthyristor,IPMandpowerdevice.ThethermalmodelofthemisdescribedasadiscreteR(z)functionandthecorrespondingFoster.orCauelladdernetworkmodel.Toconfirmthismeasurement,withusingWestcodeandDynexthyristorasasample,thisonewasverifiedwith10 %errorascomparedwiththethesedata-sheet.
