Objectives
This rule is aimed to make a contribution to academic development by stipulating all the Transactions of the KIEE editorial and research-related principles and standards provided that the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers published The Transactions of the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (hereafter referred to as ‘the Transactions of the KIEE’) related research does not disrupt the international guidelines for publication ethics (human dignity, worth and humiliation; public interests and ethics) as well as the KIEE General Research Ethics Code.
Subject and Scope
This rule shall be applied to all people who contribute papers to the Transactions of the KIEE and get financial support (labor cost) through the Transactions of the KIEE. However, this scope is limited for publishing the Transactions of the KIEE under 1) the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics: http://publicationethics.org/) Code basically and 2) the KIEE General Research Ethics Code strictly.
When the Transactions of the KIEE Publication Code conflict with the KIEE General Research Ethics Code or the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Code, the KIEE General Research Ethics Code has the first priority and the COPE code has the second priority.
Researchers’ Honesty
- Authors shall NOT steal ideas of others, in whole or in part by using them directly or modifying them superficially.
- Authors shall reveal the source of the ideas in the form of footnotes or references. Besides, the authors shall NOT use ideas learned from research proposals and manuscripts for paper review in their own research.
- Authors shall NOT copy, modify or manipulate in part or in whole the materials by someone else such as the texts, equations, figures, tables, photos without mentioning the original authors of the materials.
- Authors shall NOT contribute the papers that were already published without mentioning their existence.
- If there is a possibility of unfair practice in accordance with Paragraphs 1 through 4 of this article, it shall be inquired to the KIEE publication office by fax, e-mail or other reasonable means.
- If unfair practice in accordance with Paragraphs 1 through 4 of this article is found suspicious, a member of the KIEE shall report it to the Transactions of the KIEE Editorial Boarding in a reasonable manner.
Allocation of Contribution
- The authors published on the paper shall fully understand the detail with responsibility. Those who haven’t made any contribution to the publication shall NOT have the author’s right.
- Co-researchers (co-authors) and those who have involved in publications both directly and indirectly shall be properly compensated in accordance with the method mentioned in the paper.
Authorship
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
- Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND
- Final approval of the version to be published; AND
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved
