Abstract |
This paper introduces the Local Renewable Management System(LRMS) developed by Korea Electric Power Corporation and describes the Renewable Energy Forecasting System, which is one of the main module in LRMS. The Renewable Energy Forecasting System forecasts the generation output by using meteorological data from the Korea Meteorological Administration, electrical data acquired from SCADA and DAS which are KEPCO's power facility operation systems, and the installed capacity and the location of renewable generation plants. The category of forecasting is classified as 'individual power plant', 'dedicated transmission line', and ‘distribution line' according to the level of the voltage and the installed capacity. Then, the forecasting methods based on the available data for three cases are presented. The case studies for each method are analyzed to forecast the total renewable generation in LRMS. |
