Abstract |
As penetration of Renewable Energy Source(RES) into a power system increases, this connection becomes a problem that makes complicated to maintain the voltage and the frequency at an optimal level. In the past, a transformer tap control, SVR(Step Voltage Regulator) and STATCOM have been a method to solve such an issue mentioned. Recently, grid-connected smart invertors emerge as an effective method to manage the voltage and the frequency of the connection point via their various functions. In this paper, we solve the problem of voltage rise due to the increase of a photovoltaic generator in the distribution system through the Volt-Var control, Volt-Watt control, and fixed power factor functions of the smart inverter. In addition, with the smart inverter as a role of voltage stabilizer, the magnitude of active power the photovoltaic generator is maximized while the overall system loss is minimized. In this paper, the amount of active power reduction of the photovoltaic generator that occurs when a power operator takes measures of system stability were compared. In the future, an appropriate compensation measures will be review in the consideration of the economic loss of power generation operators and the benefit of facility. |
