	| Abstract | 
	The rapid growth of electrical energy storage system (ESS) based on lithium-ion battery in Korea caused social issues due to the increase in fire accidents. Accordingly, the Korean government conducted the first, second, third fire investigations on 32 cases of lithium-ion battery-based ESS fires between 2017 and 2021. This paper comprehensively summarized the results of the investigation committee for ESS fire accidents, and analyzes ESS real-time monitoring technology as one of the solutions for fire prevention and disaster minimization.  |
