Abstract |
Recently, used batteries are expected to dramatically increase according to the expansion of the EV(electric vehicle) market. Accordingly, Korean government has improved the supporting systems for the recycling of used batteries, and in particular, in the field of repurposing, various studies are being conducted for effective evaluation methods that can secure the performance and safety of batteries after use. Repurposing of used batteries is mostly adapted in the field of ESS(energy storage system) for normally used EV batteries and a total inspection before repurposing is required due to battery characteristics. Therefore, this paper investigates the operating mechanisms of the IR(internal resistance) test method, and implements a test device for middle and large sized cell and pack. Based on the proposed method, the IR of NMC-type commercial batteries is analyzed with various conditions, and it is confirmed that the proposed method is effective in IR measurement and safety evaluation for the repurposing battery. |
