Title Development of Wireless Earth Leakage Overheating Alarm for Electrical Equipment using Magnetic Energy Harvesting (MEH)

Abstract The MEH wireless earth leakage overheating alarm was developed to prevent electric shock and fire accidents in a switchgear. First, the MEH induction coil was designed based on the theoretical background and the output characteristics of the MEH induction coil were numerically analyzed. Also a prototype MEH wireless earth leakage overheating alarm was fabricated and the minimum operating current temperature accuracy and leakage current performance in non-operation or operating mode were confirmed through test. The MEH wireless earth leakage overheating alarm developed through this study can be utilized for IoT-based electrical safety diagnosis to prevent electric shock and fire in power facilities.
