Abstract |
The automotive industry is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions and the transition to eco-friendly vehicles is accelerating due to global interest in environmental sustainability. In particular, commercial vehicles such as buses and trucks emit the most greenhouse gases and are highly dependent on fossil fuels, so a transition to eco-friendliness is necessary. While various studies on electric buses are being conducted around the world, there is a noticeable gap in research related to electric bus charging systems using the urban railway power grid. Utilizing the urban rail power grid to charge electric buses provides an advantage in optimizing power demand and utilizing the urban rail network in urban areas and other areas by efficiently utilizing active power based on the maximum power of the railway. Accordingly, this paper focuses on the development and comparative analysis of a pantograph-based electric bus charging system and the existing plug-in manual charging method. The goal is to evaluate the feasibility of a pantograph-based electric bus charging system. In addition, this study investigated the impact on the load rate of the urban railway power grid by adjusting the charging amount of electric buses by time period using a random function. |
