Abstract |
This paper proposes an analysis and utilization of power independence index(PII) to improve the penetration of renewable energies. In South Korea, power demands are concentrated in the metropolitan area. Therefore, the construction of transmission lines between remote power plants requires enormous construction costs and yields social conflicts. In order to balance supply and demand by region, this paper aims to predict the level of power independence in 2036 by setting an indicator that can calculate the degree of balance between power supply and demand. Also, the effect of reducing system loss was simulated as a result of distributing renewable energies concentrated in a specific region to other regions by applying PII. Finally, this paper proposes the use of PII as data for reviewing the location of large consumers and renewable energies in order to balance the supply and demand of electricity by region. |
