| Abstract |
Although autonomous driving technologies are automating vehicle driving and parking, EV charging still remains a major operational bottleneck that requires physical driver intervention. Accordingly, wireless charging is gaining attention not only as a convenience technology replacing conductive charging, but also as a key technology for redefining energy supply in autonomous vehicles. This paper examines EV wireless charging by extending the conventional alignment- and maximum-output-oriented design perspective toward an energy-operation-oriented perspective. It discusses the distinct roles of static and dynamic wireless charging, the possibility of compatible operation, and key research directions including AI-based coupling coefficient prediction, power transfer control, abnormal-state diagnosis, route-infrastructure-grid coordinated operation, and future standardization and demonstration strategies. |
