Abstract |
According to the government's policy to demonstrate and expand the renewable energy sources, distributed generators such as PV(photovoltaic) and WP(wind power) are energetically installed and operated in distribution systems. However, there are many issues related to power quality problems including overvoltage of customers. In order to overcome these problems, the electric power company has installed a SVR(step voltage regulator) in primary feeders interconnected with PV systems, and also has established technical guidelines for distributed generators to stabilize the customer voltages in distribution systems. However, it is difficult to maintain the customer voltages within the allowable limit. Therefore, in order to actively introduce large-capacity PV system, this paper proposes optimal voltage control algorithm of MHG(micro hydropower generator) to keep customer voltages within the allowable voltage limit and presents evaluation algorithm for hosting capacity of PV system in distribution system based on sensitivity analysis method. Furthermore, this paper performs PSCAD/EMTDC modeling based on proposed algorithm and presents characteristics of customer voltages based on various scenarios related with location of PCC(point of common coupling) and capacity of PV and MHG. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed methods can contribute to the stabilization of the customer voltages and increase the hosting capacity of PV system in distribution system. |
