Abstract |
In this paper, we develop two novel flexibility indices, Time Series Insufficient Ramping Resource Expectation (TS-IRRE) and Probability Distribution Area Index (PD-AI). Previous flexibility indices, Insufficient Ramping Resource Expectation(IRRE) and Area Index(AI), have the limit that they estimate power system approximately. In IRRE, it evaluate power system under the extreme condition. In AI, it overestimates some calculation process. We design TS-IRRE and PD-AI to evaluate power system properly and more accurately. In TS-IRRE, we decompose the calculation process not only horizon times but also every time interval to increase reliability. In PD-AI, we give shape to the process of sampling using probability distribution to increase reliability. We verify our study by experimenting our indices with 2018 South-Korea power system data. We show that our indices evaluate flexibility and power system better than the original by comparing each index set. |
